Through economic disinvestment, the once vibrant community of Kansas City, Kansas has been reduced to a fragmented community with severely limited access to fresh food and outdoor spaces. The Eldin Urban Nursery is a proposed home base for the reforestation of the area’s biggest park along the Jersey Creek Trail on a vacant lot known as the “Eldin Urban Forest”. The residences will be occupied by caretakers who will manage the urban forest, work in the nursery, and assist in the broader reforestation project of KCK.
